How Do You Stick To Your Budget?

Just like our New Year's Resolution was to start this blog, many resolutions involve better managing or budgeting your money.  That's what Wild Bill and Scott talked about on this week's Mason Jar Monday; ways to better keep track of your money!  Here are a few things you can do to budget your money even better:

1.  Pay attention to your money!  Knowing where you are spending, how you are spending, and what you are buying will all help you recognize ways to improve your budget.  Paying attention will also better protect you from fraud.

2.  When it comes to credit/debit cards, less is more!  Minimizing the amount of plastic that you use to spend and shop will help you keep better track of purchases, and, once again, help protect you from fraud.

3.  Take advantage of tools to help you!  Technology can really assist you in managing your money.  For example, Honor offers a mobile app, text banking, account alerts, and even fraud tracking to help you know what's going on with your money wherever you are!  You can even set up your account to alert you when your balance falls below a certain level.

Speaking of technology, Honor's budgeting tool, Money Desktop, will let you set budgets within online banking for any account you have anywhere all under one login! Money Desktop will let you set budgets, receive alerts, and manage your income and debts at the click of a button!

4.  Pay yourself first!  Start building that emergency fund today by paying yourself first!  Set a goal, write it down, be disciplined, and watch your savings grow.

What other budgeting tools do you use?  We want to hear from you!  Comment on this post, or follow us on twitter (@honorcu) and use #askhonorcu to get involved! You can also comment with the topic you want to see discussed next week! It's your money, and we want to talk about things you care about!
